For anyone who has had a loss or losses, I am so sorry that this is what brought you to this page.
The stillbirth of my daughter, one of my twins, was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I think about her daily and tenderly hold her in my heart.
After my loss, I struggled to find the right support. I had trouble finding someone who also had a background in mindfulness, as being able to sit and introspect, was very important to me and my own grieving process. I decided to take my own grief trainings and blend it with my mindfulness background to offer mindfulness-based grief coaching.
Mindful grief coaching involves:
A safe space for gentle exploration of our feelings and emotions
Gently turning towards our grief with sensitivity and compassion
An ability to hold our grief with tenderness, instead of trying to “fix” it
An introspection of our experiences with love and understanding
Cultivating an ability to listen to our inner wisdom
Respecting our needs and setting healthy boundaries
My mindful grief coaching is based off the work of Dr. Alan Wolfet (and others trained by him) using the mindset of companioning. Companioning is walking alongside a griever; being present with them, and honoring their pain and the wisdom of their grief. It is based on the foundational principle that grief is an expression of love.
